Greater Shepparton swimmers will soon be enjoying modern facilities thanks to a funding boost from the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Northern Victoria, Mark Gepp today announced that Aquamoves Lakeside Shepparton are among the many grant recipients in the new round of the Labor Government’s $180 million Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.
Aquamoves Lakeside Shepparton will receive $250,000 towards the installation of two 1500KW gas boilers and a 92.5KW photovoltaic panel system to heat the outdoor pool. The upgrade will provide further opportunities for learn to swim programs to be run in the outdoor pool at the facility and increase participation.
Victorian sports clubs and facilities are the lifeblood of our communities and they deserve modern, accessible and safe facilities – the Labor Government is delivering those facilities through its Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.
The fund is developing new sport and active recreation facilities and rejuvenating tired grounds and ageing clubrooms across the state.
In this round of the Community Sports Infrastructure Fund, over 90 projects will be supported across Victoria thanks to a $60 million boost from the Victorian Budget 2018/19.
It is part of our commitment to promoting sport and active recreation and encouraging all Victorians to get out there and get active.
Across Victoria we’ve already invested $420 million in community sport and recreation facilities and added more than half a billion dollars in the Victorian Budget 2018/19 to support sport across all levels.
Mr Gepp acknowledged Greater Shepparton City Council for their commitment and financial contribution to the project.
