Patients and their families in Moira will continue to get the very best care from our hard-working doctors and nurses, thanks to a big funding boost from the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp today announced a combined $25.49 million investment for nurses and doctors in the Moira region to do what they do best – provide the world-class care that locals need.
The funding includes;
- $12.33 million at Yarrawonga District Health Service. That’s $632,000 more than the previous 12 months. The funding for Yarrawonga District Health Service has increased by more than $2.94 million, or 31.3 per cent, since 2014/15, the last year the former Liberal Nationals Government was in power.
- $23.79 million at NCN Health. That’s $1.35 million more than the previous 12 months. The funding for NCN Health has increased by more than $7.03 million, or 42 per cent, since 2014/15.
NCN Health was established following the voluntary amalgamation of Nathalia, Cobram and Numurkah health services, to enhance access to local health care for their communities.
Across the state, the Labor Government is providing a record $12.2 billion for our hospitals and health services to treat more patients and provide even better care, helping meet the needs of our growing state. It includes a $2.5 billion boost to hospitals in the Victorian Budget 2019/20.
More than two million patients will be treated in Victorian hospitals over the next year, including more than 200,000 elective surgeries and 750,000 emergency department presentations.
It means more patients will receive care, treatment and surgeries sooner.
The Labor Government is also making dental care free in Victorian public schools, providing 500,000 specialist appointments in regional Victoria, recruiting more nurses, midwives and paramedics, and getting on with the job of delivering its $3.8 billion pipeline of hospital construction projects.
