The Andrews Labor Government’s regional road maintenance blitz is set to benefit locals and freight drivers in Echuca – with works underway on McKenzie Road.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp MP announced the beginning of a two-part $2.33 million project on McKenzie Road between Ogilvie Avenue and Echuca Airport, which will benefit 2,200 drivers using the stretch of road each day.
Crews are rebuilding and strengthening both lanes on a 1.2 kilometre stretch of the road until early February, which will then be followed by works to rebuild another 600-metre section.
It is part of the Labor Government’s $425 million investment to improve hundreds of freeways and roads that Victorians rely on every day.
Reduced speeds and traffic management will be in place – drivers are asked to be patient and adhere to these changed conditions for the safety of roadworkers and the community.
