Echuca racecourse will be the scene for a memorable welcome to 2020 with a fun-filled evening for racegoers, New Year’s Eve revellers and families alike.
Thanks to a funding package worth more than $30,000, there will be entertainment for the whole family, with umbrella packages and incentives, kids’ entertainment including a jumping castle, waterslide and face painting, and popular local singer Jade Camden performing live.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp today announced that the Andrews Labor Government would invest $13,500 from the Victorian Racing Industry Fund – Raceday Attraction Program to support the New Year’s Eve race meeting.
There’ll also be free shuttle buses from Moama and Echuca to the course, and a free umbrella package promotion.
Since December 2014, the Labor Government has provided more than $768,000 to support 10 events and 10 infrastructure projects at Echuca Racing Club.
The thoroughbred racing industry in regional Victoria generates $716.9 million for the economy and helps sustain more than 6,100 full-time-equivalent jobs.
Echuca Racing Club is contributing more than $15,000 and Country Racing Victoria $2,000 towards the December 31 meeting.
