Local students now have the facilities they need for a great start in life with the Andrews Labor Government completing an upgrade at Numurkah Primary School.
Member for Northern Victoria, Mark Gepp MP today announced works are now complete on Numurkah Primary School’s upgrade to deliver new fencing.
The Labor Government provided $225,625 from the 2020/21 Minor Capital Works Fund to upgrade the school’s external perimeter fencing – ensuring safety and security for staff and students.
In the past eight years, the Victorian Government has invested $12.8 billion in building new schools and more than 1,850 school upgrades, creating around 17,400 jobs in construction and associated industries. The Victorian Government is ahead of schedule in its commitment to deliver 100 new schools between 2019 and 2026, with 75 new schools opening between 2019 and 2024.
While much of this funding went on new schools and significant upgrades to help meet increasing demand, this fund is about delivering the small projects that make a big difference while also supporting local jobs.
The Victorian Budget 2022/23 invested $41.8 million in the Minor Capital Works Fund to improve learning spaces as well as the condition and character of schools.
